Tbo measure proceeds mainly on tho linos of tho Min’storial proposals, except that it provides that no notion oan bo brought againrt a trades union or similar association. The minority was exclusively composed of Unionists. Mr Asquitn, Mr Haldane, Sir Edward Groy, and Sir H. Fowler, and Mr Robson were absont from the House. Mr Koir Hardio assured the Government that thoy noed not fear a conflict with tho House of Lords, adding that whovor came in conflict with Labor would rue the day. Sir H. Campbell-Bannerman said tha* iudgo made law had defeated tbo intention of Parliament. Ho had voted for bills on the linos of tho present ono, and saw_n° roasonjfor not reposting the vote. The difference between Mr Hudson’s bill and the Government bill rolated to methods, not objects. Ho admit'od that the Government Bill left pitfalls and loopholes. Mr Wyndham expressed amazement at the rooognition of the principle of immunity. He moved the adjournment ■ of the House as a protest against the ' degradation of Parliament. His motion was negatived by 370 to 66. r A BYE-ELECTION.
