According to an advertisement published in Fiji, Fanning Island and Wash' ington I-land are to be sold on April 176 b, at Suva, by direction of the High Commissioner’s Court, without resorve. Re cently received information states that the sale is merely a private one, in settlement of terms of the wills of the original owners. However this may be, reliable information received is that there will bo aotive bidding on the part of Germans for j Fanning Island. It is stated it will go to j a high figure.
