AN EARTHQUAKE.
I I Two sharp shocks of earthquake II were felt afew minutes before 3 o’clock yesterday afternoon. The shocks followed each other in quick succession I and were of several seconds’ duration. Beyond a few chimneys falling no further damage is reported. j SHOOKS IN THE SOUTH, (Per Press Association.) Eketahuna, last night. I A somewhat violent shock of earth- I quake was experienced here at 3 o’clock I this afternoon. The direction was north to south, and the osoillation lasted fully I half a minute. ;
Waipawa, la-.t night, A very severe shock of earthquake, last, ing about 20 seconds, was experienced at 3 p.m. Now Plymouth, last night. A violent shook of earthquake was felt at 2.58 this afternoon, the shake lasting about a minute. Greymoutb, last nght. There was a slight shock of earthquake at 3.3 this afternoon. Wanganui, last night. A heavy earthquake was experienced here at 3 o’oiook this afternoon. MastortoD, last night. There was a sharp shock of earthquake here at three o’clock this afternoon.
