BRUTAL OFFICER,
TORTURES HIS RECRUITS,

Burksabl, a sorgeont in the German army, has been sentenced to seven months' imprisonment and degiaded at Mulheim for assaulting reoruits with the butt of a rifle, striking tbeir frost bitten hands with a bayonet, and giving them torturing knee-drill. Ho pleaded zeal for service.
