St. Patrick’s Day demonstration was postponed yesterday, owing to the wet weather, and the Taranaki-Auckland ten* nis tournament was oommenoed, but not finished. The balanoe of the matohes will bo played on Monday. The golf matoh between Outhbert, of Wellington, and Hood, of Auokiand, was won by the latter. MASTERTON GATHERING. .(Per Press Association.) Maeterton, last night. St. Patrick’s Day sports wore held on Saturday in fine weather. Following are the resulis of the principal races ;—St. Patrick’s Day Handioap, 100yds : M. Stevens 1, F. J. The danoing events was won by R. Moßae (sailors’ hornpipe, dog, and Highland fling) 1, J. O'Grady (Irish jig) 2. R, Matbeson won the Sootoh bag* pipe music.
