DAMAGE ABOUT £2OOO.
(P*r Press Association.) Dunedin, last night, A fire broke out on Saturday evening in the furniture faotory and store yard of Messrs Scoullar and Chisholm, Ltd., in Ramsay street. Approximately the damage is estimated at between £ISOO and £2OOO, largely depending on how much of the articles in process of manufacture wero injured. There was an insurance polioy of £2OOO on the building and stock, distributed among tha various offioes. How the fire origina*ed is a mystery. No wo:k had been carried on after noon, and the place where the fire broke cut is away from tbe engine room, If it had been smouldering all the afttraoon, it is thought some of tbe many hundreds who passed must have smelt the fire.
