There was a large and appreoiati'6 audience at His Majesty’s Theatre la-6 evening, on the occasion of the production by the J. P. Sheridan Musical Comedy Company of the bright and attractive musical comedy, " The Lady Slavey.” The play is a most popular one, and hes the reputation of having enjoyed one of the longest runs in England and America In'the three-fold role whioh he pourlraja', Mr Sheridan has a good opportunity of displaying his versatility, and needless to say bis efforts last evening were high appreciated, the hearty applause whioh greeted bis every appearanoe being ample eviderce of this faot. - Miss Heba Barlow gave a truly artistio interpretation of the part of Phyllis, the lady ela'vey, it being unanimously oonoeded that it was the beßt character in whioh she has so far appeared. Miss Muriel Williams wou the hearts of all present by hor'oleyer danoing and singing. All membsis of the company appeared to the greatest advantage, and the performance was throughout a most successful one. There was an excellent orchestra, and the choruses and groups were oharmingly arranged.

A grand oonoert on board the good Bhip Bristol is promised. Miss Barlow will sing " Como Back to Bom Bom Bay,” a song with a remarkably catchy refrain. A special train is annouLO-d to leave for Te Karaka alter the performance. A orowded house will no doubt give a hearty reception to the 11 Widdy O’Breon,” and wish her bon voyage. The company leave for Napier onSuaday night par Talune.
