Invercargill, last night. A horse attached to the New Zealand Express Company’s van bolted to-day and brought down the end of a verandah, which was tipped through a large window. The driver, E. Ohecketts, sustained oon* cussion of the brain, and has been uncon* seious several hours. The doctor oonsidars there is every reason to hope he will re* cover.
Christchurch, last night, An ioquest was held this morning touching the death of Violet Muriel Owoos, a single girl, 17 years old, who died suddenly. There was nothing in th 9 medioal evidence to show any improper treatment, and the jury returned a verdiet that death was due to a shook, following an operation,
Invercargill, last night, liate Daegan, aged 17, single, a domess tici servant, died in the hospital after a brief illness, under circumstances that render an inquest necessary.
