Mr Watson has received a letter from Mr Ramsay MBodonald, secretary of the British Labor Reprosenta'ion Committee. After reference to tho overwhelming buooess of Labor at the elections, be says “ We are now anxious to meet our colonial friends with tho view of com'ng .to en understanding with the democratic ata labor foroeß in the Emp're, as wo consider tbia to bo the next s:op which the Labor m vemonta at Home and in the colonies should take.” Ho giver an assurance, on bohali of tho Labor patty, that it “ barajJri’ intention of interfering with your fisoal JSpolicy. Wo recognise that this is a matter for yourselves and yourselves alone ; nor doeß it wish to interfere in anv questions which are internal to your colony cmly. Wo have four main objects in vi&w, to resoue the Empire and the Impel ial spirit from beiDg exploited by reactionary and anti social classes at borne; to make the Empire stand for peace and democratic justice in the eyes . of tho whole world ; to Btudy various social experiments which have been started in the colonies ; to get our colonial fellow workers to understand the Labor movement in the Mother Country and fed a share in its fortunes.” The letter adds : “ Probably three or four Labor members will visit tho eoionirs this year, after the parliamentary session is over. During their visit they will be willing to address one or two meetings in a few of the prin* *. oipal towns, and will bo glad to meet delegates elected by the chief tradeß and labor organisations to confer with them on matters of common interest.” It asks if tho visit, supposing it can bo arranged, will be acceptable, and that some reprei ntative body officially make arrangements for reoeiving the visitors.
