Admiral Fawkes left this morning via Taumaraoui for Hawke's Bay, where ho intends to stiy a few days with the Governor at, Takapsu. The recommendations cf a Committee with reference to matters affecting the training college were discussed by the Board of Education yesterday, The Ocm mittee recommended that the Minister should be urged to provide a new building for a training college. The secretary said he believed LIOOO bad been put on the Estimates for this purpose. Mr Bagnall moved : “ That the matter be referred [ to the committee, to recommend some scheme for the provision of the new build* Togs.” Mr Petrie said that Mr Hogben approved of the erection of a new building for a training oollege, as distinct from the Norma! School. Mr Bagnall’s motion was agreed to, and other recommendations respecting the length of terms sod cars of the sohool grounds were referred to the principal.
