(Per Press Association.) Wellington, laet night. The case of §ir Joseph Ward i. the proprietors and publishers of the Evening Post was opened in Chambers before His Honor the Chief Justioe this morning. The matter was one in whioh plaintiff brought an aotion for libel against defendants for publishing a certain advertisement relating to the Colonial Bank. Mr Ball, for defendants, stated that regret at the publication of the advertisements had already been expressed in the columns of the paper, and a eeitlrment had been arrivedat by defendants renewing their expressions of regret and paying costs.
