THE TRENTHAM MEETING.

(Per Press 'Association.) Trentbam, last night.

Tbo weather opened well this morning, but a tricky wind again rendered shooting erratio. The Nelson match, which began lest night, was resumed, and it was well on in the afternoon before the match concluded. Simultaneously with this msteh shooting at the 800 yards, in the first raoga_ of the Canterbury match, wbb being carried on. Colonel Collin 3 hinted in bis remarks yesterday that it would take the whole day to complete the long range distance with pnly 12 targets, and eo it proved. Those whe began at the 800 yards when finished proceeded to the 600 and 700 yards, and finished the Nelson matob, and vice versa. Those too who were not down at either match were put on at ihe moving target match, which continues throughout the nvcling, and its result wi 1 not bB known until about Saturday. After the Nelson match, the Wellington matob, 10 shots at 600 and 700 yards, wbb started. The competitors have had ready heavy shooting the whole day Lorn 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with only a brief respite for lunob.
