BUDDEN DEATH OF REV. G, HOUNSELL.
A great shook wai"caused throughout the oonjmunily on Saturday morning when the news got about that the Rev. George Hounsell, the welUknown pastor of the Wesleyan Church, bad fallen dor d Mr Houustll was in his usual good fob tr on Saturday morning, and left the n rsonage at 10.30 a.m. to cycle into town on business He rode off stomingiy well and hearty, and on reaching almost the txsct •spot where> the late Mr W. J Qu : gley sud denly expired Mr Hounsell was setn to reel forward on his bicycle and then to fall heavily, almort into the arms of a passer-by. Ho was soon picked up, and Dr Cole summoned, only to find that life , was exfinot, doath being due to sudden . failure of the heart. Although Mr Houn- . sell always maintained such a cheerful , disposition it is said that ho had told a few . of his friends that ho koew that his heait ' was weak. His age was fifty-seveo, and 1 he haves a widow, and married eon settled in Sydney, to mourn their loss, and for the widow especially deep sympathy is i felt. He was transferred to Gisborne t rrom Woodville nearly two years a age, and by qoie l , uoussuming work 1 bad won the hearts of the peop’e, c and in many a home the memory of his si cheery worda in time of trouble will be ti ever treasured.
