(Per Press Association.) Dunedin, last night.

A considerable portion of yester-

day afternoon was taken up with a consideration of the Young Mon’s forward Movement. Gratification was expressed at tho work dono •by the Organising secretary, and it was unanimously resolved to continue the pftiee. Tho appointment of secretary for tho coming year was deferred. On —ynaval and military matters it was de- , cided that the Minister of Defence be waited upon ro chaplains’ appoint-ments-to volunteers, and urged that in each battalion staff there be two chaplains, and that thoy shall not both be of the seme demonstration. A Corns mittoe was set up to watch and foster the appointmont of deaconeses3 working for the church iu the colony. A financial difficulty at Coromandel was definitely dealt with. The assistance of the church loan fund provision was made to enable the lay members of the stationary committee to sit on that committoe in future during all its session. Tho report on Bible-in-Schools was received, aud a central committee appointed. In the evening a misionary demonstration was held. At the Methodist Conference a resolution was passed rejoicing that at the opening of tho British Parliament the speech from the Throne gave assurance of an amendment of the Educotion Act, and trusting its unjust clauses would bo removed. Tho priccip'o of a motion to draw up a Bcboms for providing more uniform and adequate salary for ministers in poor oiroumUaocss was approved, and a committee appointed to report at noxt conference. The request of tho Auckland Education- Property Trustees to bring a friendly suit in the Suprome Court for directions as to administration of the Grafton Road and Three Kings education trust was approved. Membors of the Conforonco and friends wore entertained at aftornoon tea by the Otago Ladies’ Auxiliary Mttholist Eoreign Missions Association. -V -== ■--
