Sir, —By your report of tho Borough Gouncil’s meeting, Or Bright, for tho second tiruo exorcised himself very much oyor tho Council’s appointment of Hospital Trustoes, in tho following words : “ Tho Council makes a mistake in not appointing to tho Board of Trustees some one who would bo amenable to tho wishes of tho Council in this matter.” Now, sir, I may inform Cr Bright that I was Hospital Trustee years before Mr Bright oamo to the district, and always fulfilled my duties as faithfully, conscientiously, and honestly as Mr Bright has overdone, and that tho two trustees appointed by tho Council aro at all times in accord with tho Council’s wishes, aud that Mr Bright does not solely constitute the Council. I may also inform him his memory must bo rusty, othervviso ho would remember mo being in favor of haviug tho ward in tho hospital grounds tilt tho doctors all objected, when I agreod with their opinions. I may also inform Cr Bright that those appointed by tho Council aro fully as experienced in charitable matters, aud fully its faithful in their public duties as ever Mr Bright was or is. I may also inform Cr Bright that I have at all times taken as much interest in the welfare of the district, and have as big an interest in it yet, and claim to possess as much experience in the public welfare as Cr Bright, and that I am not as liable to bo removed from the district except by my own wishes —this being the second attack made by Cr Bright I am in justice compelled to reply,—l am, etc,, E, P,JuYCfi.
