Invercargill, last night, . ] Word has been received here that Thos. Kennedy, a well-known settler of WeDdcn, was kdled at Windsor, neat Oamaru, whero bo was holiday making, by tho accidental disobargo of a gun. There are no details. He leaves a widow and family.
Oamaru, last Digh:
An inquest waß held yesterday at Windsor on the body of Thomas Kennedy, a well-known settler of Wendon, Southland, who shot himself dead on Sunday with a pea rifle. A verdict of. accidental death was returned.
Eltham, last Dig!
Georgo Pollard, aged 22, was driving a milk cart from Eltham factory, wbioh upset when passing a waggon of timber. Ho sustained a fractured skull, and was conveyed in a serious condition to Hawera hospital. Pollard died before reaching the hospital.
Wellington, last night. Mr G. H. Field, oged 24 years, a second class passongor by the Corinthio from London, was missed from the vessel last bunday morniDg, and is supposed to have Soon lost oyorboard, He was in ill-health
