Tbo roed which is tho occa'-ion of the dispute in Tonga is the main road which fronts the King’s grounds, and leads to the British Consulate. There a-e on the road two gates which the King occasionally closed, necesiitnt'ng a circuit of his grounds, about 10 or 15 minuiej’ walk, and the opinion is expressed here that with the obange in the Imperial Government the position of affaiis in Tonga msy be reconsidered. Contradicting the ft eta assumed in a previous telegram, a ToDgan merchant, who is here, states that the dispute concerns the proposal to lake a road through the King’s country ground?, three-quar-ters of a mile from Nukualofa* The I opinion is expressed that if this is insisted J on it will lead to bloodshed,
