At the Algeoiroa Conference Germany proposed that tho Sultan choose foreign officials to control tho native police, or tbat'the control be entrusted to diplomatists at Tangier, acting through a high offioer belonging to a neutral Power. , Fianoe is willing to leavo the organisation cf the police to tho Sultan if Fionch and Spanish offioers exoreiso control of maritime towns. She is even willing to discuss the principle of supervision. Le Temps declares that France’s last > word has been spoken.
