Woffington, last night. Sailed, H.M.S. Powerful and other '■warships, for Wellington. The Chief Justice to-day granted decrees nisi in the case of Olsen v. Olsen and Archer, wife’s petition, and Archer v. Archer and Olsen, husband’s petition, on the grounds of adultry.
Hokitika, last night. *1 mm named Frank Boyes was seoufiy cu t with, an axe, accidentally, from the arm to the wrist, by a fellow workman at Karangaru, South Westland.
Eltham, last night. The body of an old man named Matthew Waters, aged 70 years, was found this morning beside a tub of water, with the head partially immersed. He had been in bad health lately and had been closely watched. A daughter had been sleeping in the same room, but ho rose early and i lef f without being heard.
