GATES OF ROADS. Mr W. H. Perry wrote asking for permission to erect gates on the Tauwhareparae and Huanui road. j The request gave rise to considerable discussion, there being a difference of opinion as to which style of gate should be adopted. . . B 'lt was decided to grant permission to the applicant provided he metalled tho road for 20 feet on either side and used a kind of gate approved of by the Engineer. LAND FOR ROADING.

The Council accepted the offer of Mr T. S. Williams of £25 for land taken for the purposes of a road through the Paramata block. STEELE’S ROAD.

Tho lowest tender, £127, beiog that of Mr D. Malone, was acoeplod, Four tenders were reoeivod for the Washuka new road, tho prices being £863, ' £385, £4lO 5 s and £464 16s 61 respectively.
