Dunedin, last night. Mr D. Tannock, Superintendent of Gardens and Reserves, has suggested to local advisory committee in connexion with the Christchurch International Exhibition that the Exhibition Commissioner should set aside a portion of the exhibition gardens to be allotted amongst gardeners through the colony for competitive designs in landscape gardening, attraction of the grounds would be greßtly enhanced at a nominal cost. The suggestion has been sent on.. .
Frederick Vernon, aged two years and six months, died from strychnine poisoning, whioh the child found in a neighbor’s honss.
Barewood gold mining Coy obtained 73 ounces from 270 tons crushed during January. The Ladysmith Sluicing Coy’s washup for the month was 1520 z. .
