It is reported at Tokio that after the conclusion of peace negotiations with Russia China will request Britain to evacuate Weihawei. The Japanese House of Representatives has passed the Budget, the Government’s only concession being a re duction of five million yen in the defence estimates. The House recommended that the Australian line be subsidised for two instead of three years, but the Government opposed this.
