POLICE PROMOTIONS.
RECOMMENDATIONS BY THE COMMISSIONER. (Poe Presa Association.) Wellington, last night
In accordance with the recommendations of the recent Polioe Commission the following promotions and transfers have been decided upon by Commiasioner Dinnie:
gab-inspector Blaok has been tran: ferred from Auekland to Dunedin.
Sub Inspector Green has been tram ferred from Dunedin to Timaru.
Sergeant Doug’as Gordon, Mount Cook training depot, promoted to be Subinspector, and transferred to Auckland. The following aro appointed station sergeants: Sergeant Thomas King, Oamaru, and transferred to Dunedin ; Sergeant Samuel F. Norwood, Wanganui, and transferred to Christchurch; Sergeant Chas. Wm. Hendry, Newton, and transferred to Auckland; Sergeant Wm. Jno. Phair, Rotorua, and transferred to Wellington. Promotions to sergeants: Constable Miohael Murphy, Wellington; Thomas Barrett, Waimate; D. D. Hutton, Johnsonville; James Blaok, Marton.
