OURORY AGAINST TAXATION.

The Reichstag, on the budget commerce, rejected or amended the bulk of the proposed new stamp duties on freights and goods. Stenzel said he was astonished that the representatives of Commerce and Industry were so bitterly opposed to new taxation which is devoted to strengthening the Empire, Muller, a clorica 1 , maintained that the enormous incress:d debt was chiefly incurred in pursuit of politicjl arms, and not in the preservation of peace.
