William Davenport and the Rev. Vivian Moyle, obarged with fraud on November 20tb, were senteDoed to three years’ penal servitude and eighteen months’ hard labor respectnoly, at the Old Bailey. The Recorder expressed horror at Moyle’s re-admission to the cure of souls after his oonviotion, and seven years’ sentence at York in 1873 for fraud, involving £II,OOO
Davenport was scntonced in 1893 to eight years for fraud of £30,000. | William Davenpoit, shipowner, known as Charles Weils, of Monte Carlo, and Vivian Henry Moyle, a olergyman of the Established Church, were brought before the Tower Pol'cs Court on December 15th on;the charge of conspiracy to defraud'in connection with the South and SouthWest Coast Steam Trawling and Fishing Syndicate.]
