The summer meeting of the Gisborne

Racing Club was opened at tho Park raoooourse yesterday undor tho most pleasant ciroumstancos. There was a largo attendnnoe, and tho racing thronghout was full of interest. Yoslerday three machines were in use, and that these wore required was demonstra‘od by tho fact that neatly £IOOO more was hondlod than on tho first day of tho last summer moeting. Tho Gisborne Eiflas Band, under the able oouduotorship of Mr MoKillop, were present during tho afterhoon, and played a choice selection of popular rnusio.
