A TE AWAMUTU TRAGEDY.
BOY’S DEAD BODY FOUND. BULLET WOUND IN THE HEAD. A shocking discovery was made at Te Awamutu on Monday in one of the bystreets close to tho esntre of the township about midday, when the dead body of Harry Bosanko, a fine, sturdy youth, aged 12 years, the only son of the la'e Mr Richard Bosanko, was found by a youDg lad, who was at the time searching for eggs, amongst some fern and scrub. It appears that the deceased left home on Friday last armed with a pea rifle. As he failed to return home bis mother came to the conclusion that be had gone viaitiog some relatives, as was hia custom, some four miles out. This, however, was not the case.
Constable McPhes, on removing the body into the Courthouse buildings, observed a bullet wound over deoeased’s right eye, while under the body was the pea rifle, which contained the oase of a discharged cartridge. The deceased was last seen alive about 4 p.m. on Friday last, and from the decomposed state of the body one would gather that be met his death on that day.
