Tangier, Jan. 23. Friction between tho Anjoro tribe and followers of tho -notorious chief Raiauli is leading, to frequent murderous reprisals. The Anjeros burned three villages in East Tangier on Friday. Eaisuli’s guard is investing Tangier roads and murdoring travellers. Moorish troops are powerless owing to lack of food and desertions. Yud Schank, captain of the excursion steamer General Slocum, burned on June 15, 1901, with great loss of life, has been sentenced to ten years’ imprisonment for not having fire drills aboard.

Dr Jameson, the Cape Premier, declared that if the Government adhered to the democratic basis of one-vote-one-value all would be well. It was impossible for the Government to go back on that.

The Political Labor League Conference decided that a Labor candidate should contest every seat at the next election. Tho Conference favored a radical amendment of the Arbitration Act.
The yacht race resulted : Magic 1, Cooya 2, Fleetwing 3. ,The magic sailed splendidly, and over the first portion of the course easily maintained an advantage from the New Zealander, Rawhiti, which certainly did not sail up to expectations. On the run home the Magic maintained a leading position, the Rawhiti finishing sixth.
