I Westport, last night j The Prom’or turned tho first sod of tho I Weetport-Inaugahua Junction railway I yostorday forenoon in tho presenoo of a largo assemblage, and was presented by the Mayor with a gold spade, wheelbarrow and inkstand. Spoeohes were made by tho Premier, Hon. Mr Duncan, Mr Colvin, and looal publio mon. This afternoon the Premier unveiled tho fallen troopers' momorial in tho publio square. Thoro was a gioat gathering of volunteers, bands, Friendly Societies and tho publio. I Mr Soddon and party loavo for Groymouth to-day.
