In regard lo preference, England, apart from politicians, was awaiting for tho colonies’ movp. He does not think they will make up their mind in favor cf Mr Chamberlain's scheme unlit the colonies say they want preference. England would accept it if her children aoross tho seas declared in favor of it. There was no telling when tho day would oome, or what form it would take. There is a growing interest in Australia as a place for settlement.
