Detective Northbridge had a desperate encounter with an escaped criminal lunatio, George Brown, who also was wanted for burglary and shooting a man. Northridge met Brown in the street and covered him with a revolver. Brown A the revolver hand and tried to turn it on' 1 ' tbo detective. During the stiuggle Bix shots were fired harmlessly. Northridge then snatched a second revolver . out of Brown’s pocket. Thß latter clutched the revoher, Fierce struggling took place, and five more shots were fired, none taking efto'. Eventually the detective, though badly cut and bruised, secured his prisoner. Brown is a notorious criminal, with a long fist of convictions, including mans’augb ter. '
