(Per Press Assooiatioii.) Invercargill, last night. The hearing of the petilion to invalidate the luvercargi 1 local option poll in favor of co-license was op3r.ed btfore Messrs MoCaithy, Burgers, and Riddell, S M.’e. Miss Benjamin and Mr R. W. Hall appear for the petitioners, aod Mr W. MacAlister opposes on behalf of tho no-license party. The petition alleges that the count of votes was erroneous, votes that should have been rejected as informal being included,' and others re jecied tbnt should have been included ; that oertain voting papers wero not marked as require 1 by law ; that persons were wrongfully refused papers; that overcrowding was allowed ; that scrutineers and others wrongfully spoke to voiers ; that voters were misled by mock ballot papers issued withio three days of the poll ; and that persons under age or otherwise disqualified voted,
