HEAT WAVE
124 IN SHADE AT MILDURA. SEVERAL FATALITIES. By telegraph, Press Ass’n, Copyright Received 1.4 a.m., Jan. 8, Sydney, Jan. 7. There is a heat wave over the Riverina, Victoria, and South Australia, with very high registers. Melbourne reports over 99 in the shade, Mildura 124, Wentworth 119. Adelaide reports two deaths from heat apoplexy. Several cases of sunstroke have occurred in the Riverina.
