A GUARD’S DEATH.
KILLED AFTER 35 YEARS’ SERVICE ON THE LINE. ;(Per Press Association.)' ‘ Donodin, last night. Fred Logie, a guard on the- Port Chalmers railway, who wa3 injured by slipping while shunting at Sawyer’s Bay, the wheel of a truck passing over his abdomen, died in the hospital this evening. He was a son of a fermor collector of customs, and had been on the port lino since its opening 35 years ago. He was 51 years of ago and loaves a widow and fam ly of four.
