A remarkable reoord wai (says a Manawatu pipei) reoently put up between Wanganui and Palmerston by Harold Henderson, cyclist, and as there was some doubt felt as to the possibility of the journey being done in the time, Henderson undeitook for a wager to repeat his performance. Be chose a day when a strong wind and good roads were in bis favor. Hit time on the oooasion was three minutes le3B than before, the 43 miles being ooverod in 1 hour 48£ minules. This works out at ao average of 2 miaules 15 scoonds per mile, indeed a prodigious performance. Henderson rode a 90-gear machine.
