(For Press Asiociation.) Dunedio, last night. An inquest was held to-day on the body found at Woikarioo Thursday. The police have, so far boon unable to obtain aDy due to the identity of the man. Medical evidence was to tho effect that tho man was from 40 to 45 years of age. The body was well nour shed, but very muoh decompesed. The hands presented the appear* auce of a man uaacoustomed to manual labor. The wound in the throat might have boon self irafl.cted. A piece tf b’anket was wrapped round the throat. There was a piece similar in the hut near by. No one is known to have disappeared. The jury returned a verdict by the coroner’s direction that deceased bad committed suicide. No weapon was, however, found anywhere. Auckland, last night. At the cte3s congress in the fifth round Davis beat Miles on the 320 d move after an overwhelming attack. Edwards beat Jowitt at the 48,h move a f ter holding the upper hand all through. The charity band coolest resulted : First Battalion Band, 98 points, 1 ; Waibi Federal, 95 points, 2; Hauiaki,9o points, 3 ; Rotorua, 83 points; First Regimental Band, 86 points ; Ooehunga, 83 points; Ka angahake, 82. There was a good attendance, and the taking was about £IOO.
