LOCAL OPTION POLL
DOUBT AS TO CARRYING OF NO-LICENSE.
(Per Press Association.) Invercargill, last night. A potition is in circulation, praying for an inquiry re the Invercargill local option poll. It alleges that there were irregularities that tended to defeat the fairness of the poll. Tho question whether invalid votes oast for the Parliamentary election should affect the local option votes of the same persons is to be discussed. It is said that members of a religious body mado their electoral votes informal on principle, and if so l-beso were lost to the local option count. Tho continuance party, therefore, hold that tho figures used as tho basis of calculation for local option were not all the voters whoso votos were recorded,
