ATERRIBLE NIGHT ioF SLAUGHTER VILLAGE ALMOST WIPED OUT. Received 9,44 o.m Deo. 25 Sydney, Dee. 25. Advices from Now Guinea state that natives fromlßrown River made a night raid on November lltb, on ills village of Kiro, which was almost wiped out. Sixteen men, women and children were killed. The vil'age constable escaped wounded, and brought the news to Point Morrsby ; A strong armed force was sent and nine of the raiders were arrested.
