Mr Winston Churchill, addressing the City Liboral Club, said froetrade and self-governing peace would bo the principles governing the Liboral colonial policy, the nation giving with an open hand and open heart all it had a right to give of its protection and crodit in a groat free market, asking no price, driving no bargain, seeking no calculated repayment. This was tho only union by which they would bo ablo to preserve through all tho years loyal, powerful prosperous and profitable* colonies.
The Daily Mail accuses the New South Wales Government of trying to muzzle its Sydney correspondent for telegraphing the truth respecting tho prospects of-immigrants. It declares there is only too much reason to believe that the declarations published in England to the effect that Australia is now anxious for settlers and immigrants are only a means of influencing the British investor in favor of Australia. It asserts that the Labor party is trying to fetter enterprise and so create a Socialistic Utopia.

Count Yon Bulow, replying to Herr Bebel, added that the British belief in Germany’s evil intentions were caused by Socialists perpetually representing that Germany was a disturber of peace. He warned the Socialists not to proceed with words and doeds, otherwise they would see what would follow.
