Rain fell steadily throughout tho greater part of tho night and all the morning. The course was very heavy, tho course being absolutely a soa of mud. Nevertheless, tho attendance was very satisfactory, and
the attendance of a highly interesting nature. Tho sum of £4399 was put through the totalisator, bringing the total up to £10,173 for the meeting, being £4502 less than tho corresponding meeting la<t year. Following are tho results : Slewards’ Handicap Sir Peroival 1, Barca 2, Pepatana 3. Pushful, who was favo-ite, got left at the post and took no t -.o in the raoe. Won comfoitibly by a length and a half, Papatawa a head away third. Time 2.36 4-5. Divs. £3 14s and j 18s.
Hurdles—Geologist 1, Iseult 2, Cassiopea 3. Sloepwell, Lull, Florio aod Rosegrove were soratohed. Won throughout by two lengths at tbo finish, Cassiopoa a length away third. Time 3.4 45. Divs. £2O 6j and £1 7s. Ruahene Hack Woltsr—Letherin 1, Tbe Ruler 2, Bonbeur 3. Heywood waa scratched. A g-eat finish, Letherin winning by half a length, with Bonheur a length away. Time 2.8 35. Divs. £4 3j and £2 10s. Summer Handicap. Starina 1 Capulet 2 Silverleno 3 Ropa was scratched. Won by four lengths, Silverlene a lsngth away third. Kuroki, tho favorite, was last, Time 2.6. Divs. £3 18j and £2. Telegraph Handioap—Arc Light 1, Rosegrove 2, Sir Peroival 3. Soratohed ; Sir Geraint, Pat, Sp'eodid Idea, White Squall. Won by three lengths. Sir Percival a length away third.
