Herr Bebel, speaking in the Reichstag, declared that the increase of the navy was directed solely agams tain. Referring to the increasing taxation he said unless the workers were comfortable they might ask whether the Fatherland was worth defending. Herr Von Rheinbaben, Minister of Finance, complained that Herr Bob9l was claiming for individual workmen the choice whether they would obey the Kaiser’s call.
