Tho Panther has strived at Rio Grande. The man kidnapped is named Stemhoff, 18 years of age. He is not a deserter, but quitted Germany to avoid serving in tho army. It is reported that the Panther simultaneously kidoapped a Brazilian son of a German, Zimmerman, at Santa Catharina. Baron Branco, Brazilian Minister of Foreign Affairs, awaits reports from Santa Catharina before sending the naval squadron southwards,
