The number of eggs laid during the thirty-first week of the New Zealand laying competition is 2020, making a grand aggregate of 56,785, and a weekly average per pen of 20'20. The highest layings for the week are : Chick Priddie’s white Leghorns (Blenheim) 32, Lynn Edwards’ white Leghorns (Blenheim) 32, -Lloyds Hickman’s brown Leghorns (Baleairn) 32; Miss V. Murphy’s rose comb black Orpingtons (Blenheim), 30, Miek Shaw’s white L3ghorns (Blenheim) 30, Townsend and Green’s white Leghorns (Wanganui) 30. The order of merit in the grand aggregate is as follows (first five pens being while Lsghorns): H. Leger (Levin) 900, Brooks (South Australia) 820, Marlborough A, and P. Association 796 r Mick Shaw 588, Jonathan Hodson 782, Hockey’s brown Leghorns (Nelson) . 729, There ore over 100 broody hens. ‘
The results for the. months of October and November show a slight decrease on the previous month, the total being 9103. H. Leger and Mick Shaw tie for fi si place, with 1299 each ; and Jonathan Hcdson’s white Leghorns and A. Cole’s Minocas (Hamilton) are next with 125 each. Father Servajean’s white Leghorns are next with 122.
