TRIUMPHANT TOUR IN THE SOUTH.

Dunedin last night. .The Premier visited Waihol i, which is in the 13ruoo district, on Saturday by invitation, and received a cordial welcome. Mr and Mrs Seddon were entertained at a formal luncheon, after which the Premier was presented with an address from residents. In his reply the Premier contrasted the present condition of affairs with that I of 14 years ago. A vole of (hanks to the Premier for his address, and confidence in the Government, was carried by acclamation.
The Premier and Mrs Seddon were taken for a cruise on the lake, and afterwards entertained at afternoon tea.
The Premier afterwards journeyed to Stirling, where be addressed a largo meeting in the evening. He referred at length to Mr James Allen’s etalement respecting the price of New Zealand consols, contending that compared with other colonies j New Zealand stock ocoupied a most favor able position, He referred to what the Government had done for the farmers in
the way of granting concessions and other ass’stanoe, and quoted from speeches by Mr Massey and other members of the Opposition to show that they had opposed tho Land for Settlements Act and other Acts. Ho said tho State coal mine was not started to find work for tho unemployed, but to regulate the price of coal, and to check the importation of coal from outside. I
A vole of thanks and confidence in tho Premier and Ministry was carried amidst great enthusiasm,
