Tho second match between the Union and Te Rau was playsd yesterday. Lang winning toss from Witty [ went into bat with Sheridan, but Sheridan was caught for a duck, Ferris came in, and before Lang was bowled they had put on 85 runs Perris batted splendidly for 45, of which 29 were boundaries, Grant 17, Pirie 13 ; Lang 27, Priestly 10 also batted well. The innings closed for 155. To Rau started batting, with W. Gibson and McConnell. Gibson, after making 7, was well caught by Sims in the outfield, Wynyard came in and McConnell was bowled for a well-hit 21. J. Gibson and Wynyard played out time, Gibson (not out) 17, Wynyard (not out) 24, 2 wickets for 74. Following are the scores : Union : Lang, b Andrews, 27 ; M.
