S x candidates were nominated yesterday for the Eastern Maori electorate, The nominations were received by Mr John ; Brooking, Returning Officer. The following is a list of the candidates : Wi Pere, proposed by Tnta Nihoniho and seconded by Taare Mete. Apirana Ngata—Heni Materoa and Peka Kerckere. Mohi (e Atahikonia—Wheta Paerata and Karepa Mataira. Ihaia Hntana—-Pera Waaka and Eparaima Wbarekura. Tuheke Kohere—Hamtor.a Hei and Poibipi Kobere. Tiki Paaka—Reweti T. Kohere and j Toko Beihana. ] After the nominations had closed a show of hands in favor of each candidate was takeD, the voting being: Wi Pere 19, A. T.
