There was keen gfnerw competition. Americans are operating >o* tho best wools. Everything was firm 8 * July raloe, but September fanoy prices wero barely maintained. At tho tallow sales 1209 casks wero ot* fered, and 865 sold. Mutton fine is at 843 Bd, medium 28j, beef fine 80s 6d, medium 26s ea.

The Department of Industries and Com* meroe has received the following cable* gram from tho High Commissioner, dated 29th :—"The wool sales have oommsnptd, Bt which there is a large attendance.Tbere is great competition, with a good demand for ell descriptions, Supplies do not meet the requirements, and the market remains firm at the same, prices as at last saio. The market prospects .ere considered favorable.’’ ” ■
