Tho Turkish garrison retired to their barracks, whioh tbo Austrian detachment is watching. [The crisis was caused by the demand of tho Powers that Turkey should permit the fin&ncos of Maoedonia to be plaoed under international control. A cablegram last week stated that tho combined fleet under tho Austrian Admiral Ripper would seize the islands of Mitylene and Tenedos, and if this material protest proved ineffectual to at’ack the Dardanelles.]

The Vienna Press states that the Tewfik Pasha informed Baron Caliee, AustroHungarian Minister at Constantinople that the Porte had decided to accept the demands of the Powers. Baron Calico requested the assurance in writing, whioh up to the present he has not received.
