Wellington, last night. The Governor has received a telegram from the Secretary of State for the Colonies, stating that it is understood from the Japanese Legation that the famine in North Japan is not bo serious as to require foreignpeeuniary assistance. The Legation is therefore accepting no further contributions to the relief fund.
