(Per Press Associatioo.) Auokland, Saturday. Edward Rogers was jambed between two busses at Devonport on ‘ Monday, and died in the hospital'to-day. He leaves a wife and three children. Hastings, Saturday. Mrs A. Hastings, aged 83, was found dead iu her kitohen last night. The cause was heart disease. Deceased was an old identity of HaßtiDgs. At the inquest a verdict was returned of death from failure of a diseased heart; v Nelson, Saturday. Information has been laid by the Registrar of Eleotors for Nelßon against Harry Atmore. a candidate for Nelson Beat, for the alleged signing of a claim for enrolment not previously declared by the claimant under section 150, sub-seotion 3, of the Electoral Act, 1902. The case will be heard on Monday; •; The first instalment of the Nelson drainage loan of £20,000 'has been floated by the Bank of NewiZeaiand, mostly at par. The work will be etarted forthwith. It iB proposed to drain a portion of the city under Mr,. Meslayer’s septio tarik scheme. Lyttelton, Saturday. At Lyttelton this morning John Erio Peterson, a seaman, was oommitted for trial on a charge of attempting to out the mooring line of the steamers Oanepus at the wharf at 11.20 p.m. yesterday. The rope was half out through. Peterson, who was seen apparently interfering with the rope, eaid he was drank, and did not to member. Dunedin, Saturday. At Omakau, Central Otago,' one of the severest sgales known" in the distriot is raging. The engine-shed was blown down. Trains are delayed. Mnoh damage was done to houses. Several sheds were demolished. The weather in town is very sultry, and there are severe dust-storms-
